Handsome 11'' statue of Saint Martin of Tours is shown on his horse, dressed in his military regalia. He came upon a beggar clothed in rags and shaking from the cold. All other rode past him. Martin stopped, took off his own cloak and slashed in in two with his own sword, giving half to the beggar and half for himself. That night Martin had a dream and from there on his life changed courses. Martin died on November 8, somewhere between 395 to 402, at 80 years old. At his request, he was buried in the Cemetery of the Poor. Made of hand carved alpine wood painted. Sizes 6.5" to 71". Call for other sizes and prices.
